Experienced commercial and project director

Twenty years of success and achievement in the further education sector, three years in political strategy and twelve years in the commercial retail sector has provided Mark a wide ranging understanding of strategic and practical operational delivery, in a modern real world business context and environment.

He has successfully delivered the multi-partner Kent & Medway Widening Participation Project with Susan Pember and gained significant additional project income for Kent’s colleges. Whilst at Canterbury he drove business development and apprenticeship improvement growing income by over 30% and driving up quality to achieve apprenticeship outcomes significantly above national rates. This culminated in two consecutive Ofsted ‘Good’ judgements for apprenticeships in 2015 and 2017. Mark also supported the achievement of Ofsted ‘Good’ judgements for Canterbury College and East Kent College in 2017.

Most recently Mark oversaw the Area Review process on behalf of the two colleges and as Executive Director for the East Kent Colleges’ Partnership led on the partnership’s development and progress to merger transition.
